If you want to extract the contents of the installer package then use the following command:
VMware-workstation-*.exe -e c:\vmwtmp
Note: It take a few for everything to extract and there will also be a copy of the VMware-workstation-*.exe in the c:\vmwtmp folder as well, just ignore it. Then you can look in c:\vmwtmp and if you want start the install from the .msi file.
