Just a FYI.. Linux Mint 15 is not yet officially supported so there may be some issue with some VMware Tools features and this is quite normal and expected with unsupported OSes. Sometimes third party patching may need to be applied to get problematic features to work.
Have you you actually set any Shared Folders in the Virtual Machine's Settings > Options tab > Shared Folders?
