VMware Tools Color Statuses

Hello,

I've enabled an alarm in vCenter for our ESX 5.1 Update 1 environment for VM Heartbeat to help monitor virtual machines. We get the email notifications, but I cant find an updated KB/Document/Article outlining what the various statuses of Gray, Yellow, Green, Red, etc. equal. Can someone point me in the right direction?
